Overview

This is the famous Annapurna base camp trek with a day’s hiking to the Annapurna South Glacier or the Hiunchuli base camp that offers you the perfect Himalayan adventure. We change the traditional route of this trek by adding a bit of adventure for those interested in seeing the spectacular landscape of the Himalayas and climbing up to the Annapurna South Glacier.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is also called Annapurna Sanctuary Trek and is a medium level trek that starts from Luwang Ghalel village, north of Pokhara. We follow a rhododendron forest trail to Mardi Himal Forest Camp and rejoin the beautiful village of Landrung.

The Annapurna Sanctuary is a unique, gigantic site encircled by many high mountains above 8000 meter and Glaciers. Located at 4130 m altitude, you will have the opportunity to see the 360 ° panoramic view of the Annapurna massif.

The Annapurna I (8 091 m) was climbed first time by the team of French mountaineers Maurice Herzog, and Louis Lachenal in 1950.

Departure for Pokhara, about 8h drives to Khoramukh (1000 m). From the bridge a short village walk with a steep uphill climb to reach the beautiful Gurung village of Luwang (1460 m) specializing in tea production. We begin our journey from Luwang by climbing through the forests of rhododendrons. We will perhaps see some wild animals, including deer and many birds. Lunch at Forest Camp (2600 m) and then trek down sometimes steep by a small path to the village of Landruk.

Gradual descent passing through beautiful water falls. We cross the Modi Khola River on a suspension bridge at New Bridge (1 340 m). Lunch at Jhinu Danda (1780 m), climb a bit steep until Chomrong Village.

Descent to the Chomrong River by stairs, then steep climb to Sinuwa. Beautiful view of the Machapuchare, We trek down through a forested path, arrive at Bamboo Lodge and finally Dovan (2 600 m).

Gradual climb through the rhododendron forest up to Deurali (3 200 m), then we reach the base camp of Machapuchare (3 700 m). Overnight at Machapuchare base camp.

After a quick breakfast at Lodge, We walk to Annapurna Base Camp. Afternoon, explore the Base Camp and its surroundings and get closer to the glaciers. Over Night in Lodge on the “Sanctuary of Annapurna” (4130 m).

4h walk down through well-paved path to the Kimche Village and trace down the village trail up to the Birethanti (1100 m) and then transfer by vehicle to Pokhara. Afternoon free, time for relaxing in Pokhara.

Drive back to Kathmandu that takes 7 to 8h. Lunch on the way. Arrival in Afternoon & Free in Kathmandu.

Visit Baudhanth Stupa in Kathmandu and drive to Bhaktapur City. Afternoon, Visit Patan City.

Transfer to the airport for your final departure or any other scheduled destinations.
