Overview

The Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trek itinerary has been developed by the TAAN to expose the hidden trail that lies within few miles from the capital city Kathmandu. This trail provides us to explore hidden Ruby valley and explore the hidden treasure of rich Tamang culture and tradition of the Ankhu khola valley.
The trek begins from Shyabrubensi of Rasuwa district and enters in Dhading district by passing the Singla Pass (4045m) of Ganesh Himal and ends in Ri Gaon Phedi.

The trekking route passes through ethnic Tamang settlements, natural hot spring, gorges and magnificent scenery. It is located mostly in north-central Nepal, but some peaks lie on the border with Tibet. The highest peak in the range is Yangra (Ganesh I), 7,422 m (24,350 ft). The name for the range comes from the Hindu deity Ganesha, usually depicted in the form of an elephant. In fact, the south face of Pabil/Ganesh IV slightly resembles an elephant Head, with a ridge that is reminiscent of an elephant’s trunk.

This Region is enriched with its rich Flora: the impressive display of beriberi’s, primula, orchids and a variety of Ferns, the valleys set ablaze by yellow blossoms of double Jasmine, the forest dense with Spanish oak, blue pine, and in springtime blossoming of the rhododendron set whole forest alight in spectacular arrays of color. Another feature includes the abundance of crystals, which is regarded valuable, and precious stone. The area is easily accessed by the Prithvi Highway and Pasang Lhamu Highway along the southern fringes, connecting Kathmandu and Pokhara.
