Overview

The starting point of the Nagarjun hill top hiking is situated 2km from Balaju New Bus Park at Phulbari military checkpoint in Raniban, Kathmandu. After the entry formalities and Nagarjun Forest Reserve entry fees payment, we climb about 3 hours on a densely forested ridge of Nagarjun. On the top there is a Monastery and a small view tower to observe the Himalayan ranges as well as the valley of Kathmandu. There is also a road up to the top of the hill but hiking is more interesting as the whole trail is very well managed and paved and you always walk under the shadow of the trees to avoid burning sun. The walk down takes 1 and half our to reach the road and return back to your Hotel.

There is no water and food available on this hiking so that suggest taking enough food and water during the trip.

Forest Reserve Requirement to Entry:

  • Passport for other National than Nepalese and Indians
  • Citizenship/ID cards or Driving License for Nepalese and Indian National
    Normally open 7/7 during the week.
