Overview
This trek is suitable for those who have very short time but wants to know a glimpse of rural Nepal Himalayan tribes and its ethnic culture along with snow caped White Mountains. This trek starts in Kathmandu and ends in Kathmandu. The normal trail starts at Sundarijal, 10km northeast of Kathmandu and goes towards Chisopani Hill, Khutumsang Village, Mangen Goth Kharka, Tharepati, Malemchi gaon and Tarke Gyang. From Melemchi, you can take a bus back to Kathmandu. Located about 72 kilometres northeast of Kathmandu, it extends from north of Taramarang to the tree limit of the Gosainkunda Lake and lower slopes of Jugal Himal. There we meet several highland Yolmo, Tibetan, Tamang and Sherpa people with their villages, scattered on both sides of the Malemchi Khola.
The trek is comparatively easier one due to the fact that the elevations are lower, ranging between 800m and 3600m, offering less climbing as well as warmer temperatures. The most important benefit of this trek is that the area is less crowded by tourist/visitors and free from noise in comparison to other regions. Besides this, the trek offers a wide range of cultures and spectacular scenery.
